HELLO I’M DAVID,
I strive to help my clients develop self-confidence, find a strong sense of purpose, and build healthier relationships that lead to longer happiness. At times, it may feel easier to avoid your negative thoughts, emotions, or relationships hoping one day they will be magically resolved. I am prepared to walk alongside you, listen to your story, and help you navigate these challenges, so you don’t have to wait any longer. I work collaboratively with you when creating goals because your voice is important in this process.
My approach to therapy utilizes Humanistic concepts, meaning you will experience genuineness, empathy, and understanding in each of our sessions. Exploring deep feelings or thoughts can feel frightening, so I ensure to create a safe and accepting environment that can make the process a remarkably healing experience. In our work together, we’ll explore past events which may provide insight on any presenting challenges. Furthermore, my therapeutic toolbox includes several Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions which can help clients see new perspectives and recognize any harmful patterns.
This holistic approach creates a safe haven for clients of all ages, gender identities, and religious or ethnic backgrounds. I have gained vast experience as a school counselor working with adolescents on emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, and pro-social behaviors. I believe my enthusiasm creates strong trust as I enjoy making sessions fun, engaging, and educational. I have worked with family systems and helped individuals struggling with anger, depression, self-esteem, grief, and anxiety. I am Gottman Level 1 Certified and prepared to work with couples on communication skills, relationship fulfillment, life transitions, and enhancing intimacy. If you are reading this, I am here for you.
