HELLO I’M SAMANTHA,
I specialize in anxiety, depression, and burnout. I often work with young adults & adults navigating life transitions and “feeling stuck” - perhaps you’re considering a career change, or trying to manage worries about being a new parent, or maybe you’ve discovered a later-in-life LGBTQIA+ and/or neurodivergent identity. These transitions can sometimes be stressful, and you might find yourself feeling an overwhelm of emotions. Clients that are drawn to therapy with me may identify as emotionally sensitive people - one of my goals as a therapist is to support folks in validating their experience and learning to navigate a society that's not always built for them. Together, we can build on your strengths, create meaningful goals that align with your values, and work toward those goals. I also have a professional background in perinatal mental health (including postpartum depression and anxiety), emotion regulation, grief & loss, and trauma.
My therapy approach draws from treatment models such as DBT, ACT, mindfulness, solution-focused, and person-centered care. I aim to be collaborative, warm, and down-to-earth, and I enjoy supporting clients in finding creative ways to meet their goals. A session with me might include learning coping tools, challenging unhelpful thoughts, laughter & humor, self-compassion, and a nonjudgmental space to process your emotions. I believe that what works for one person may not work for another, and I prioritize showing up authentically to meet you where you're at.
I am trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I am passionate about providing mental health care within a social justice framework. Outside of therapy, I enjoy reading, hiking, cultivating joy at Disneyland, and playing with my two dogs. I'm excited to work alongside you in your healing journey!
